Flight disruptions AFKL due volcanic ash Update |
20Apr 2010
Dear Customer,
We are happy to announce that both Air France and KLM are starting up flights again.
Today all flights, which were stranded in PVG, are leaving back for Paris and Amsterdam. The details as below:
AF674A/20Apr PVG/CDG departed 0645LT
AF117/20Apr PVG/CDG departed 1202LT
KL896/20Apr PVG/AMS departed 1443LT
As you can imagine there may be changes in the situation regarding the volcanic ashes leading to last moment rerouting or diversions. This means that all flights will be taking maximum fuel and this may limit the available weight for cargo.
Furthermore there are still numerous restrictions, like flying in daylight, max number of aircraft per hour etc., this could lead to changes in schedules and ad-hoc cancellations. As it looks now our freighter fleet both in Paris and Amsterdam will start up under similar conditions as above- mentioned.
In general we expect that if we do not have too many payload penalties, we hope to have cleared our backlog by this Saturday 24Apr.
As from the moment the backlog is cleared we will start honoring contracts and BSA’s again.
Please be assured that the total AF/KL Cargo team is committed to get your freight moving as soon as possible and restore our normal service and service levels.
Thanks for your patience and we will give you further updates in the coming days.
For any specific questions our Sales managers and Customer Service representatives are happy to assist you.
Sincerely yours,
Air France-KLM Cargo Management
